It's Tent Tuesday!

Tuesdays needed a little help.

So we’re giving the slowest day of the week at River Rock Central Park a bit more personality. Welcome to Tent Tuesday - our weekly mystery promotion where you never quite know what’s going to be waiting under the tent.

Some weeks we’ll pull out a great deal on gear, footwear or clothing. We might dig into the back room and find something that really needs to find a new home. Other Tuesdays could bring a Golden Ticket, a freebie, a snack, a free service or something we haven’t even thought of yet.

That’s part of the fun.

On discomfort, uncertainty, and living a bigger life.

There’s something appealingly adventurous about those two words.

Are you afraid? Go anyway.

Are you unsure? Go anyway.

Conditions aren’t perfect? Go anyway.

Don’t know exactly how it ends? Go anyway.

On October 22, we’re welcoming Kevin D. Harkins, author of The Hard Part Was the Point: On Leadership, Legacy, and Purpose, for a conversation about discomfort, uncertainty, and what can happen when we stop waiting until we feel completely ready.

Kevin will share stories from his own life- times when there was no certainty, the outcome wasn’t guaranteed, and he chose to move forward anyway. And what those decisions ultimately made possible.

Because living a bigger life doesn’t necessarily mean doing bigger things. Sometimes it means saying yes when it would be easier to say no. Taking the trip. Starting the thing. Having the conversation. Choosing the harder path. Getting comfortable being uncomfortable.

At River Rock, we talk a lot about adventure. But adventure isn’t always a mountain, a river, or a faraway destination.

Sometimes adventure is simply deciding to go anyway.
