Shoe Care 101

Break Them In – Wear them around the house or on short walks before hitting the trails.
Keep Them Clean – After muddy hikes, remove dirt with a soft brush and lukewarm water. Avoid harsh detergents. If you need a cleaner, we have some great options in-store or online.
Dry Properly – Never use direct heat or leave out in the sun! Stuff your boots with newspapers and let them air dry.
Condition as Needed – Leather boots benefit from occasional waterproofing treatment or conditioner.

Lacing Tips to Prevent Heel Slipping

Avoid blisters and discomfort with these techniques:

Heel Lock (Surgeon’s Knot): Secure your heel by looping the laces twice at the top hooks.
Window Lacing: If you feel pressure on the top of your foot, skip a few eyelets to relieve tension.
Toe-Relief Lacing: Loosen the lower laces for more toe room on downhill treks.
