We are excited to provide teen girls, ages 13-19, with a hiking program right in their backyard! Our region has fantastic local hiking spots, State Park trail systems, and we are only a short distance from Shenandoah National Park with some of the best views in the state. This program will offer participants the opportunity to learn about nature, bond with peers, and experience hikes over varied terrain. Participants will have the opportunity to learn basic wilderness first aid, leave no trace principles, and various hiking skills. There will be plenty of sightseeing and fun while participants hike in forests, alongside rivers, and summit mountains!
Our group of skilled female hikers have decades of combined experience. They are AT-thru hikers, Master Naturalists, Nutritionists, and Leave No Trace Educators. Most importantly, they have a passion for outdoor adventures and want to spread their knowledge and love for hiking in Virginia.
