Hammocking 101: Hang Tight

Product Description

Hammocking can be fun year around and offers a lighter, more compact way to camp. This hands on workshop will show you how to properly anchor your hammock, utilize the many accessories to protect you from the rain, bugs, and cold, and basic leave no trace principles important when hammocking. Bring your own hammock or use our demo model.

We are excited to expand our offerings with our favorite wilderness survival instructor Rick Pyle from American Medical Preparedness llc! As a paramedic, fire fighter, his trainings are hands-on, realistic, and most importantly fun!

This course will include:
– History of people and hammocks
– The core four of hammocking: Hammock, Anchor straps, Rainfly, and Bedding
– Anchor types and how to identify a proper anchor
– Hammock angles and guylines
– Weight restrictions
– Ground clearance and fall safety
– Hammock knots
– Shelter options
– Insect protection
– Multiple hammock positions
– Sleeping positions
– Cold weather hammocking

In addition, Bailey, our in-house Leave No Trace Master Educator, will provide a Leave No Trace awareness session as part of the class!

Last BUT not least we have an amazing ENO hammock package that one lucky student will walk away with. The package includes a double nest hammock, guardian bug net, atlas straps and helios straps. Nearly a $150 package!

The course is $30 per person. (includes: instruction in hammocking and leave no trace and a ticket for the ENO hammock package drawing).
