excited to get to know you

Hey I’m Billy

Hello, my name is Billy and I am a new member of the River Rock team. I am just another AT Thru-Hiker! I’m going to be spending my time with River Rock this summer working out at the Marina renting out high quality kayaks and SUP boards.  I just have an absolute love for nature. No matter if it is raining “cats and dogs” or it is bright and sunny.  I must be outside!  Here is a little a bit about myself to help us get better acquainted…

What was my biggest adventure?

A thru hike of the Appalachian Trail was the biggest adventure I have been on.  The Appalachian Trail is a long trail that stretches over 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine.  I had the chance to witness the beauty of the seasons changing from spring to summer and then to fall while I was on my journey.  I would say one of my favorite things about the trail was the type of bonds formed with the other hikers.  People from all different walks of life, trying to accomplish a common goal of waking up and walking North (and South depending on where you start).

Favorite snack?

Carrots and hummus… I just can’t get enough!

Favorite unhealthy meal?

Cheeseburger and fries! There is nothing like a cheeseburger after a long day/multi day hike!

Two things on your bucket list?

Well I would say a thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide Trail.  I would like to be a triple crowner one day!

What totally relaxes you?

Sunlight, moonlight, fresh spring water, walking through the woods in the early morning

What’s currently on my playlist?

  • Beatles and The Rolling Stones
  • “Rebel’s Hop” Bob Marley
  • “Don’t Stop Me Now” Queen
  • “Back Door Man” The Doors
  • “Hold On! I’m Comin’ “ B.B. King
  • “Woodstock” Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Message you’d send to all clients?

Go outside no matter rain or shine… leave the phone at home, you’d be surprised how relaxing it is to be totally unplugged!  Be positive!
